Love Is Forever - L.I.F.E. Animal Rescue
Adoption Policies & Procedures
Please read the information below about our adoption process before contacting us to adopt a pet. It is important that adopters are able to agree with our philosophies on pet ownership and consent to our adoption process so that this will be a satisfactory process for all.
LIFE Animal Rescue reserves the right to refuse any adoption based on what we believe to be in the best interest of the pet or prospective family.
LIFE Animal Rescue takes our responsibility in placing homeless pets with new families very seriously. We make a commitment to each animal whose life we have saved, that at last, they will find safety & security, and be loved & cherished for the rest of their lives. Similarly, we make a commitment to prospective adopters to help them find the most compatible pet for their lifestyles, level of experience, and personalities.
LIFE Animal Rescue believes there is the "right" pet for each family who is seeking to add a new companion. We strive to match the specific needs & characteristics of the family, with those of the individual pet. By doing so, the two can experience many years together, having fun, sharing companionship, and building memories. An animal's love is forever, and they deserve a life, where they will be loved forever in return.
A prospective adopter's current pet(s) must be current on their veterinary care AND be spayed/neutered, excepting for medical reasons. The current pet(s) must also have a consistent history of vet care.
All of our adopted pets are either already spayed & neutered prior to adoption.
Prospective adopters must be at least 18 years of age.
Because a home visit with the dog is an essential part of our adoption process we can only adopt to families who reside within a 4 hour radius within the U.S. from Elfrida, AZ.
Fence requirements vary depending on the individual's needs. Some may need a fence, while others may not.
We may have additional adoption policies or requirements not listed here, as well as adoption requirements specific to each individual pet and their needs. These things will be discussed with you if you place an application for adoption with us.
Prospective adopters will be required to complete an adoption process, which includes:
an adoption application
an interview to review the application and to discuss particulars regarding the animal applied for.
reference and veterinary check
meet n greet with current pets
a home visit
The home visit involved allows us the opportunity to see where our pet would be living, look for safety concerns that would affect that particular pet, as well as check the veracity of the information supplied in the application.
Upon adoption approval, adopters will be required to sign an adoption contract.
Included in the contract, is a 7 day trial week to ensure that both the family and the pet are both happy with the results of the adoption. We maintain contact with the adoptive family and offer support during this time to help with the pet's transition. If the adoption is unsuccessful during the trial period, the adoption fee will be returned. Post-adoption support is always available.
There is a possibility of a reduction in adoption fees if multiple animals are adopted at once.
$250 - mixed breed puppies 6 months and younger
$200 - mixed breed dogs 7 months and older
$350 - purebred puppies 6 months and younger
$300 - purebred dogs 7 months and older
*We reserve the right to change adoption fees without notice.

Every animal in our care has received the following veterinary care prior to adoption.
veterinary wellness exam
routine vaccinations and deworming
cats have been tested for Feline Leukemia/FIV
Many times, animals in our care receive additional veterinary and grooming services as well. A few of these services can include medications, dentals, 4dx, valley fever titer, urinalysis, fecals, X-rays, mass removal or other type of surgery, along with additional blood work. The adoption fee helps in part to offset the cost of caring for all of our animals.
ExceptionsIf you feel in your heart of hearts that you are the right home for one of the animals in our care but you feel you might be excluded for some reason. Please fill out an application. We look at every application on a case by case basis, based on the guidelines outlined above, in our search for the right forever home.
